If the team I am facing (this is hypothetical) will use a tactic with an increased pace, is it better to use a defensive tactic with a faster pace? Or does pace only matter when considering the stamina of my players? In other words should I try to match my opponent's pace when he has the ball?

I've read different things about this. Can anybody confirm that a faster pace affects your stamina?

The pace affects the rate at which players get tired. So faster pace means players will tire quicker than slower pace.
So I don't think the pace affects the stamina, but rather the stamina of a player affects his performance at different pace. Obviously a player with good stamina will perform well with fast pace offense.

Yeah, that was basically what I was asking. Seems obvious but I can't remember reading this anywhere. Next question would be: Does your pace affect the other team too? If you're running the court up and down the defense has to do it too, right? Anyone any ideas on that?

probably, yes. I believe tiredness during a game is a result of the number of possessions the team had while the player was on court. More possessions mean more tiredness - and more stamina means less tiredness per possession.

I agree. I don't think there is "pace" in defense, except for Full Court Press.

I never said it does. I said it affects the rate at which players get tired.
