Currently I'm trying to train 6 bigs but I'm having problems getting all of them 48 minutes.

I try to play 2 players all 48 minutes at C/PF each game but it last week I had one guy foul out with 47 minutes. The next game I put him in as the 3rd sub behind the guy that got 1 minute the but somehow he played about 9 minutes that game which made splitting the minutes properly impossible for the 3rd game.

This week I've already had a guy foul out in 47 minutes so it's likely that I'll have the same problem again.

A couple of related questions:

How much training does a player lose if he doesn't get his 48 minutes? Does he lose a huge portion with 47 minutes?

Would it be better to just train 5 guys to avoid the problem altogether or are the short minutes not such a big deal?

Thanks in advance. B.

If a player gets 47 minutes, just don't have him play on a training position any further. He'll lose less than 5% of his training, so it's a wash and not worth screwing up other peoples' minutes.

Training 5 guys reduces this issue, but if you get the minutes close enough that everyone gets more than 45 minutes every week you shouldn't worry and go on training 6 guys.

47 minutes is fine, even if it's less, it's still worth it.

I've had players pop up with less than 48 minutes twice this season.

Last week my trainee got 2 pops with 38 minutes played.

I didn't say it was proportional (in which case I would have said he'd lose 2%), but a 20% training loss is simply way more than what is supported by the data.

Either way, 47 minutes is usually way better than 40, and that's what you get for your other trainee when you play a player who got 47 minutes as a backup in some other game.

I have trained 6 guards for several seasons and you just have to be pragmatic. Have a mental list of importance 1-6 of your guys. I always try to get the top 4 48+ every week and most weeks I can get 5 guys 48+ and some weeks things are perfect and all 6 get 48+. But some times things go wrong and if number 6 gets 47, 40 or even 24 minutes - he is still getting something, but I would always priortise the top guys getting 48+ each week.

However if they are all about the same and you dont care who gets the training trying to get more minutes for someone on 47 will invariably cost someone else 10+ minutes.
