Hi,

I think that the performance of a player who played less then 10 minutes shouldn't be taken into consideration for the league leaders tables / allstar votes.

why not? if their stats are good it should be all the more impressive that they did it in a limited amount of time.

I have a good player who played 0 minutes today.
he is considered as if he played the game, but his few seconds weren't even enough to get him rating. on the league's shooting leaders his average went down as a result.
Now, when the all-star votes take place he's considered as a 16 ppg player instead of an 18... Unless only the ratings matter...
You know what, maybe 10 minutes would be enough, 5 wouldn't.

players don't qualify for the all star game if they haven't played the minimum amount of games.

?!?!

I wasn't talking about the amount of games. I was talking about the fact that a 0 minutes game is counted for the all-star and league leaders table.
that's all

I definitely agree with you on this. It should be discounted if a guy plays less than 10 minutes. It just doesn't make sense that a guys stats should be murdered because you want to try and train younger guys.

It's a simple per-game stat.

We don't need complex forumlas.

maybe it could be made per-minute. Still pretty easy formula :)

Most NBA team sites will give you per-game, not per-minute stats (unless you specifically ask for them). The main reason for that is that performance is not directly scalable.

The easy answer: If your per-game stats are that important for you, play your players more minutes. Otherwise, I don't see how this is relevant at all. Individual stats don't win games or leagues.

Normal NBA tems do not have to rotate their players this much to give them proper training :)

Of course you are right. Individual stats are just for fun. It's a pity though to see on top of the stats bots players just because they play 30 minutes every game.

Actually, unless you're blowing teams out of the gym in every game, all your starters will play at least 30 minutes per game, often more.

Plus, what's the fun of having someone's third-string center topping all rankings because he played 1 minute and scored 1 basket on a tip-in, thereby getting himself the hefty per-48 average of 48 points and 24 rebounds.
