A new season will be arriving shortly, which means it's almost offseason processing time. As part of every offseason, I like to update the Canadian scouting lists, and take a look at how our best prospects have been developing. To start things off, I've gone over the current 18 year olds (who will be 19 soon), and have produced some very rough player rankings. These rank lists are based on development from a U21 point of view.

Right after the draft, I highlighted which players had the best starting skills (in my opinion), and the initial list can be found here: (170359.1). After 13 weeks or so of training, things have certainly been shaken up a lot, which was expected.

Guard Rankings (PG, SG, Guard-type SFs):

1. Clyde Crockett; (17731631)
2. Fausto Di Donato; (17809635)
3. Christian Girard; (17809534)
4. Ross MacCririe; (17731656)
5. Kevin Fronda; (17732333)
6. Cordell Early; (17731854)
7. Placido Barbiroli; (17732037)
8. Lloyd O'Hegarty; (17731332)
9. Harvey Chung-Faye; (17809650)
10. Jacob Luke; (17809565)
11. Gary Ó Riáin; (17809359)
12. Xavier Estañol; (17732045)
13. Michael Villiard; (17809315)
14. Rex Meadows; (17731849)
15. Wolfhard Dock; (17731659)
16. Elwood Singer; (17732034)
17. John Curry; (17811028)

C/PF Rankings (includes PF-type SFs)

1. Duncan Arsenault; (17732228)
2. Pete O'Carroll; (19050725)
3. Paul Coffey Farley; (17821939)
4. Barry Khanum; (17731484)
5. Robert Lentz; (17732268)
6. Tiernan Galway; (17810136)
7. Marc Brodeur; (17731836)
8. Terell Lachance; (17731512)
9. Erick Boutin; (17731911)
10. Jean-Benoît Quirion; (17809289)
11. George Comrie; (17732454)

One nice thing about this group of prospects is that so many of the top guys have MVP+ potential. If things go well, we might see some of these names not just on the U21, but on the NT as well...in season 22 or so. :P

The best part of the off season for sure! And I don't even have anyone on these lists anymore.

Yep, he's going to have to chase down the pack like Winston Hightower did. We'll have to wait and see if he can do it, but there's definately a lot of time left to work with. :)

Shufflebottom definately has the memorable name to be a U21, just needs the skills to match by the time he hits 21.
