This is the well known BB list of skills for SF:

Small Forward
(1) Jump Shot, Jump Range, Outside Defense
(2) Handling, Passing, Driving
(3) Inside Shot, Inside Defense
(4) Rebounding

-Based on my experience, I would make considerable changes:

1)Jump Shot, Outside Defense, Inside Defense, Inside Scoring
2)Driving, Passing
3)Rebounding, Handling, Jump Range

What does everyone else think?

You do realize that that "list of skills for SF" was written by a random user over three years ago, right?

It was meant to be a very rough list for "newbies".

but it is still a sticky with BIG LETTERS "read here first", and personally i would say this list could also mislead newbies.

or did you think, that must BB User will rate OD for a shooting guard as high as Inside Shooting?

If we're talking SFs...maybe advice here? Just starting the get the hang of the game and I want to try to build this guy well:

[USA]
Eric Ellison (17737002)
Small Forward
Weekly salary: $ 3 982
DMI: 18100
Age: 18
Height: 6'5" / 196 cm
Potential: perennial allstar
Game Shape: average

Jump Shot: prominent Jump Range: awful
Outside Def.: respectable Handling: pitiful
Driving: inept Passing: mediocre
Inside Shot: inept Inside Def.: respectable
Rebounding: respectable Shot Blocking: awful
Stamina: respectable Free Throw: strong

From what I gather, defense is important, but I should train Inside Shot because of the level it is.

Just trying to pull some advice.

He's a great trainee, imo. Driving and handling need to be improved, as does passing. Rebounding is OK at respectable, but IS/ID need a lot of work.

I like to create mismatches, so I'd train his IS until it was 12+. JR should be improved some, but I wouldn't get carried away.

For me, he'd be perfect like this:

JS: 12+
JR: 6+
OD: 10+
hand: 5+
Dr: 7+
Pass: 8+
IS: 12+
ID: 10+
Reb: 7+
SB: 3+

it really depend on what u what to do on the OFF and DEF end
and how ur opponent do on thier own

the trend is like bossofbosses said, but i can assure u,
i can be as effective with an everything round out guy
using the SF to assist others scoring and drawing out the def with range
its just that too many people is blind slided to
LI, LP, RnG, Motion
