2nd place isn't in our hands anymore. If Crna Gora forfeits another game, then we're done...

Not to mention that we need to win in a big way against Slovenko, which i don't think is going to happen...

Anyhow, considering the extremely weak generation, we knew qualifying for the european championship would be very hard. Luckely, next season will have a much better generation. You'll just have to win the Consolation tournament again ;)

To finish 5th:

1) we have to lose our two last games => possible

2) Roumania has to win his two last games => difficult against Germany but possible because to a very likely CT vs TIE

3) Roumania has to catch a delay of 71 points in the point average. It's very unlikely.

if we loose both by 15 points, and roumania wins against germany with 10 points, they only need to win with 21 points from the other team. Unlikely... maybe, but possible, yes.
71 points is a big diffrence, but not that big if there is 4 games to help close the gap (2 loosing and 2 winning), as it's an average diffrence in each game of 18 points, which isn't so unusual.

And don't forget, it's most often happens, when they think they are sure to have reached somethnig.

I though my game lost againt bavi, yet had a crazy last minute and still won, and I think that win was more unlikely.

Are you a loser? Why do you insist so much about the very unlikely possibility to finish 5th, and not about the real possibility that we had to finish 2nd? What's the difference between the 4th place and the 5th? And now that the difference is +46, do you continue to think that we can "succeed" to finish 5th?

Next time I will say: "it's impossible to finish second, but the 5th place is very possible because +71 is nothing. We are strong enough to catch Roumania".

or in Englisch: you say: to finish among the first 4 is a certainty, and I said: in theory, it is no certainty.

The rest that followed is both parties trying to prove themselves right. I never said it was likely we would end 5th. I said in theory, we could end there.
Maybe there is a misunderstanding in diffrences of expressions between our motherthongues.
When Flemish people say that in theory, something is possible, it also implies it is unlikely to happen...

hope this clarifies it a bit.

About the tactics. Yeah, it was a bad choice wasn't it... But as you say, they played CT, and then it's always hard. By playing other tactics then the U21 is used to, you showed however that you still have motivation. Unmotivated managers don't change their tactics. I personally don't think you made a mistake there, we just got unlucky, and the other one outsmarted us.

I might be wrong, but seeing the results of the game and the player's performances, I don't think the team is fit for outside offense. Our PG took far too many shots while missing most, our SG, who should be taking quite a few shots didn't take many, and Sammy also took a lot, but he's not ready for it either. Sammy is shaped for neutral play, so yes, he can score some, but he should not take a majority of the shots when an inside or outside tactic is chosen. He also has a lot of developmetn to go on the offensive side, as the focus until now was mostly defensive.
Let me conclude by saying this also only shows after such games, and I wouldn't have known before either, so I'm certainly not implying you should have known and made a mistake.
