Hello everyone,

I am wondering how I can invest my draft points the best way possible. The scouting combine looks very appealing to me as I train the C spot and I get information about all the heights and ages. Otherwise it is not safe to say if there is ideally a good 18 year old big man prospect with above average potential.

On the other hand the group demonstration gives you information about 18 players for just 10 draft points. I think I have read that the “grey ball rating” does not give an exact indication about the actual strength of the prospects. Is it right? I mean if there is no difference between scouting players 1-18 and players 30-48 it might be worth a look to invest 10 points in there.

What do you guys think? Do you prefer the scouting combine/group demonstration or isn´t it worth a lick?

both do have their advantages and disadvantages. It also depends on your draft position and the average money invested in the scouting process in your league. I personnally do prefer the scouting combine; if it shows me at least 10 players with 1 or 2 grey balls who are 18yo, I usually follow it up with the group demonstration.

and while there probably is a little difference between the probability of greatness for a 5 grey ball player and a 1 grey ball player, the effect of this rating is pretty limited, so don't fear using it.

It is a very interesting way to use both scouting tactics. I did not even think about it but maybe I will give it a try.
Maybe somebody else has an opinion on this topic and might share it with us? :)
