The effects of shot blocking are still not entirely clear, and it is possibly underrated. That being said, it is usually regarded less important than inside defense.

Blocking has two known effects: it blocks some shots, and it alters others. Basically, blocking is the last defensive resort against open looks and drives to the basket, when a player who blew by is defender needs to be closed out on. Such open shots and driving layups may still be blocked even if their defender is away, or altered so that harder shots are being taken so they aren't blocked.

SB will block you from your savings. It is not highly rated, due to its extremely low "sound per pound".

If 5 shots were blocked, which would have gone in otherwise, then you've saved 10 points. I personally think that SB is worth it.

SB is regarded as less important than ID. I would agree with the consensus.

Further, it may not be worth targeted training because training ID will sufficiently train SB.

Then again, one of the few people saying that SB is worth its money and highly underrated, is a BB...

We have both said a lot of things that you are going to regret.

He hasn't trained enough SB on his own players to adequately change my mind, though. Both of his big men have 3 levels higher of ID than SB, so there must be a pretty good reason why he didn't train their SB any higher.

And for all that, he's 0-3 so far this season, if that convinces anyone how awesome SB works for him.

Thats a rather strange way of seeing why a team is 0-3. Or are you rely implying that Having high SB should automatically win you games?

Not implying anything.

Well, other than if anyone should know how SB works, it's the guy who goes to bat for SB when the rest of the community tells him it's crap, and yet his team (aside from being winless as I type this) isn't even close to the league lead in blocked shots (he's 9th in the league).

And don't give me that altered shot excuse. If he wants to prove it works, surely the means are available to him.
