What is the best lineup rotation to ensure that a trainee get a full 48+ minutes training? I've been noticing that even when I set no backup or reserve, my trainee will still often be subbed out in the fourth quarter in a blowout game. So I ask this, what lineup setup will get me the closest to a guarantee of 48+ minutes training possible?

Starter ---- Backup --- Reserve
A) Trainee --- None --- None
B) Trainee --- Trainee --- Trainee

Trainee as a starter, backup and reserve. But you forgot one important thing. Trainer must strictly follow depth chart. If you let the coach decide, then he'll sub out your trainee. Limit his options by setting - trainer strictly follows depth chart.

Your trainee will get exactly 48 minutes unless he gets injured or fouled out.

Awesome, have you by chance seen this work even if your team is blowing out the other team? That's mainly where I see my trainee get subbed out.

They get subbed out in both A and B. I'm surprised more people don't have the problem. It's happened to me at least 5 times, though it hasn't happened recently. Maybe it does only happen in blow outs? I didn't think to make that connection before.

I always felt crazy because my trainees randomly got subbed out every other week using starter, bench, reserve, with strictly follow depth chart, and with less than 9 players dressed. A few friends didn't have the problem half as often as me and they blew teams out too. It's weird.

The same thing is happening to me. I thought it would only work properly when there aren't any game breaks with less than 2 minutes remaining in the third and fourth quarters or when there is at least one player that can play better at that position. However, looking at ibarix game, it doesn't seems to be true.

To avoid having your trainee get subbed out in blowouts, you need to not have extra guys on the bench. So if you're single position training, have no more than 9 guys on the active roster (a starter and backup for every non-trainee position). Two position would mean no more than 8 active players for the game. Otherwise in a blowout the coach will sit any starter and play guys on the bench even if you've set it to Strictly Follow.

Just to be sure your trainer doesn't have any freedom of deciding at all, exclude player's you don't want to play from the depth chart. That way he is unable to use them in a match. If they are available, they might come in even though trainer is "strictly following depth chart". That proves trainer is pretty dumb.

He did it. This is not the problem. The best way to assure your trainee will play the full game it's doing exactly what Alec Burke said, but it is not working for some managers in some blowouts.

I´ve seen that the best lineup rotation to me is this one:

Starter ---- Backup --- Reserve
Trainee --- Trainee --- None

Dressing only 9 players if you want to get +48 for 1 trainee, dressing 8 to give +48 for 2 trainees, etc.

Best regards.

Also don't make the mistake I've made this year. Make sure every player on your active roster has a spot somewhere on the depth chart. If you don't, in blowouts, the coach will play the extra guys somewhere in the lineup generally subbing out the guys that haven't yet had a breather.
