This is ridiculous. If a GM wants to run 5 players on his roster, and one fouls out... Sorry, but "Lucky Fan" is not the answer. And if it is, that "Lucky Fan" should turn the ball over EVERY time they touch it in the normal course simulation action. Not DUNK it over one of the better interior defenders on my team.

matchid=35692554

I don't care that I lost the game, my opponent's team is WAY better than mine. But the "simulation" of playing 5 on 4 is AWFUL. The "Lucky Fan" finished 2-2, for 4 pts with 2 rebounds (1 offensive) in 11 minutes, with ONLY ONE TURNOVER???? Seriously??? His team EXTENDED its lead by 5 points during the time it played "down a man". Unreal.

Please help me find a reason to make sense of this? There has to be a more realistic way to handle this.

I think a more realistic way to handle it would be to have more than 5 available players on each team.

And if a GM wants to only run 5, then they could forfeit it one of their players fouls out. Of course, something tells me you would not really appreciate the the loss of training minutes.

Maybe if they changed the name you'd be less annoyed? SOmething like "Taxi Squad Scrub" rather than Lucky Fan?

Really though, who cares?

In Your squad every player is only little better than lucky fun so it isn't unusual ;-)

Must have pulled out one of those And 1 guys from the stands on you. I hate when that happens.

Buddy, it's a scrimmage. The game means absolutely nothing except getting younger players training minutes. You shouldn't care if you win or you lose and I can guarantee you that your opponent didn't care. If it was a meaningful game, he would have run out enough players that lucky fan wouldn't have seen the floor.

You want a reason to make sense of a pretty meaningless situation? lol

Okay here you go. The pro players take it easier on the Lucky Fan because he's just a fan so he can get off better looks and the defense isn't all that tight on him sorta like letting your kid brother play when you're short a guy. Also Lucky Fans only get picked based on talent and previous experience so the Lucky Fan is likely an ex college basketball player or the local highschool star.

There you go; a reson for your Lucky Fan play. ;^)

when his team is way better then yours, they could compete with 4,5 half men. And yes lucky fans ain't total scrubs, but still weaker then the drafted players.

And as said before, the defence rotates also, so if you have an weak attacker his matchup will backup a bit an help more in the defense. (there was an BB statement long time ago, but i don't think they changed it with the engne changes) The same happens with a superior attacker, he draws exra attention from the defense, but also makes it easier to score for his team mates - i believe both effect are created through the ratings ;)

And overall a statistical evaluation needs more data to be good, in this case the lucky fan indeed was lucky ;)
