This guy is my star player and I've been training him for a couple seasons. I was wondering when his age or his potential will slow him down so he is not worth training anymore. The salary calculator says he will be a 65k player next year.

i dont think he will be 65k next year I would say closer to 50 - 55. I think the salary calculator is still working off salaries before they were dropped the last couple seasons. I could be wrong though so dont take my word as gospel. At 65k he would probably be capped or close to it. If you can still train and I know you didnt ask for this advice but I would definately train up passing.

I don't agree that he is close to capping. Looking at the TL there are are few 100k Shooting guards with perennial all star potential. So I think his guy still has some training left.

Check the Suggestions they are important

I'd personally train OD and Passing, though it wouldn't hurt to train JR or HN.

I have trained two perennial allstars to their cap before and I can say, that they are quite even.

My SG's skill set is very similar and both have the same amount of skill-points withing the 6 guard-skills. Yours is better at passing but weaker at JR. The inside skills are about the same too.

I would recommend to train him until off-season and see if he still improves somewhere. If you get yourself a decent trainee, don't bother to train him any longer.

You might even think about training some inside skills before he caps, they will count less toward his cap and not at all to his salary and will make your player better as every player uses every skill.
Furthermore as said before definitely train passing, very important skill.
