I'm 'new' to this game. I've made a couple of moves to try and build up a core of players to build around for the next few years. I'm currently training my big men because when I was dealt my team, I had an abundance of 'good' big men. A few days ago I bought a 19 year old SF off of the Transfer List with MVP potential. I'm in V.66 and will be for at least another year. Do I keep training my bigs or do I single position train my new MVP SF? (FYI, the SF does not have MVP skills right now)

Well, SFs need both outside and inside skills, so you could work on this guy's inside skills while you keep training Willard Larue (or whatever other bigs you are training).

But to be an effective SF, he's going to need a lot more outside defense, which is going to train pretty slowly on him, because his height is right in the middle of the range, so he won't get any bonus there. And the other skills that are linked to OD (esp jump range) are low, so there's little elastic effect. His low passing is a drag too.

Honestly, I think this guy is gonna be a bit hard to make into a good SF. He kinda needs everything, so if you can fit him in with other trainees, cool. But I'm not sure I'd make him the centerpiece of your training plan.

Another question. I have tons. I have a Perrenial All Star potential "SF" who is 6'2" and 22. He seems like a SG from his stats. Should I train him as a SG?

Outside Def.: respectable Handling: respectable
Driving: average Passing: mediocre
Inside Shot: atrocious Inside Def.: strong
Rebounding: respectable Shot Blocking: atrocious
Stamina: respectable Free Throw: pitiful

This SG looks a better fit for SG than the one you posted before...

The second guy is a much better outside trainee. I'd mainly train outside shooting and outside defence for him next season, with possibly a little bit of 1-on-1. Make sure you do single position training.

BTW, allstar potential is plenty for your team, an allstar player's salary will cap around $60-80k (it will be very hard to get a skill to pop).
