I am looking to draft a player to train at SF since that is currently my weakest position. I need to know what the ideal height is for a SF trainee.

Also, the three five ball players (star) I have found are 1 SF that is 6'11" - 1 PF that is 6'10" - and 1 SG that is 6'1". The SF has four ball potential and A+ rating. I haven't interviewed the other two but I plan to.

Would all three of these players be suited for a SF trainee pending decent potential on the other two?

Oops, did I shoot early again?

i would say 6'6" is ideal for a SF.

I agree. A SF should be somewhere between 6'3" and 6'9", depending on the starting skills. The two 6'10"+ guys look like PF trainees to me.

That said, if you're willing to train lots of OD for the next few seasons, the 6'10" PF might be an interesting choice, if the potential is right.

The ideal height mainly depends on what type of SF you want to create.

More than HT you really need good starting skills in OD,ID and JR because they all train slowly. Ideally you want want someone between 6'5 to 6'9" but if you get a 6'10 or 6'11' guy with 7s in all three of those you can build a pretty good SF or if he just gets 7s in OD and JR and a 5 or 6 in ID since he'll train that fairly quickly. Making SFs isn't like big training where HT can overcome bad starting skills. That SF might be the best choice if the PF isn't a 3/4 Ball A prospect. Remember that you can get away with 3 Ball prospects as SF if you are building an all around guy. But you need a guy with A/A+ starting skills in my opinion since it increases your luck on getting 6+ in those 3 areas.

Also JR isn't that necessary but it is good to start with a good number and not need to train it much or at all since it will train slow, especially if you go with a big SF.

Thanks guys. This gives me a good place to start. Also for a little additional information, I am currently training guards and plan to start my SF training with them for the next two seasons or so. I then plan on switching to train big men and start my SF with them. So maybe it would be a good idea to get that pf and train his guard skills first and then his big skills since they will train faster.

Has anyone ever done something like that?

I'm currently doing the opposite. I pulled a nominal C with good outside skills who is 6'8, trained him in inside skilsl this season and will proceedd with outside skills from now on.

I think the best height for You to train SF should be 175cm (sorry, I don't understand system with feet and inches).

So there is very very very easy solution - not to train inside skills ;-)

That would result in a SG (or PG) with good inside skills, not a SF. Such a player would be absolutely helpless against balanced or inside SFs.
