I think the playoffs need an overhaul.

First of all it is ridiculous that contending teams have the lowest income during the playoffs and that the first two rounds are decided by a single game. It would be much better if there was a way to play all rounds as a best of 3 competition.

A single game in the first two rounds is necessary in order to keep the playoff period limited, otherwise people without playoffs/playouts will get bored soon.

This all depends on the feel you want the game to have. I have heard that it is supposed to resemble the NBA and other top level professional basketball entities. If this is true, we need more games. Not just for the playoffs but during the week as well. The currently, to me, feel much more like US College basketball (which I love more than slice bread). Collegiate teams play multiple tourneys (Cup, B3, Playoffs), tend to play 2 authorized games a week and teams are built for a lot of different offenses and defenses. I have never seen a pro team use the Princeton O. Added that the most popular professional offenses are the triangle and the clear out iso (1 High/4 Low or 1 High/4 Away).

I don't know, I love the idea of one and done, I wish the finals were as well. I also think playoff games should be neutral court games but I'm not sure how easy that would be to set up.

Edit: I forgot to mention to Pick and Roll and Ball Screen offenses.

i think it is insane that u have to play all one card in one game after a complete season

Never heard of the NFL?

The thing that is out of wack now is how good 5th is compared to 4th. I have been wrecked by injuries this season (4/5 starters out at least two weeks and currently starting PF out now and starting SF still unplayable due to bad GS resulting from a long injury) so I dropped like a stone from 1st last season to 4th this season.

I have Player Salaries: $ 332 503.
I make attendance of around $ 293 090.

So adding in the other factors I make a small profit each week of up to $50,000. If I came 5th I would have 0 salaries and 0 arena income but with merchandising and TV I would make a nice weekly profit but coming 4th I will get 1/3 of one game (probably less than $100,000) and make a massive loss of $200,000 for the chance of my injury depleted team to get buried by a heatlhy team by 30.

5th used to be too harsh, no games, brutal loss of income, loss of training etc, but now it is just spectacular, the new win condition. You can even day trade like a crazy man, hire a $300,000 guy for you PL final and never even have to pay his wages. Just seems out of balance now.

Playoffs can still be very short if we squeeze in additional games on mondays and wednesdays, or find a way to decide a round in 2 games (maybe like in football by goal differential)

What about training and game shapes, then?

I think that every round of the playoffs should be decided by the best of 3. Games could be played on Saturday, Tuesdays and Thursday (as they already are). Teams in the playoffs don't have a friendly match (unless the series is decided in two games)

The team with the best regular season record plays the 1st and 3rd game at home, and teams shouldn't be forced to split the entrance earnings. Maybe the entrance from the third game could be splat as BB does it right now...
