Look what $66k gets you these days.....

Weekly salary: $ 16 117
Age: 25
Height: 6'4" / 193 cm
Potential: hall of famer
Game Shape: proficient
Jump Shot: tremendous Jump Range: strong
Outside Def.: respectable Handling: mediocre
Driving: respectable Passing: awful
Inside Shot: inept Inside Def.: average
Rebounding: respectable Shot Blocking: average
Stamina: pitiful Free Throw: average
Experience: inept

Sure - pick holes in his passing... lack of real OD.. not trainable at 25... but come on.....we have a stagnant user base now (in terms of the transfer market)...... of course now we have a full spectrum of ages covered we are converging towards 'truer' market values but I feel now that the training aspect of the game is giving such precious little return for new users, there just can't be any enjoyment factor knowing its going to take you such a long time to advance.

I don't know man, maybe you are overreacting a bit. The transfer prices changed, yes, but it changed for all of us.

The only thing this guy has is Jump shot. Nothing more. His salary is a bit boosted because of rebouding. He handles the ball poorly, so he will mainly depend on good passes from teammates. And most importantly, he lacks OD. When you lower the market prices, players with holes in skills like this one are the first to plummet in price...

Imagine he had Proficient JS, Proficient OD, Strong HA and Respectable PA. I'm sure he'd go for at least 150k, while having lower salary.

This guy will be a decent bench player or even starter in 99% of the leagues in this game, so 66k is well spent money.

To me it is rather shocking what you can get for a million nowadays.

What leagues? Would you start him in your league? I wouldn't start him in my league against top teams, I would however have him on bench for R&G...

What a senseless question... As I said, starter OR BENCH player in 99% of all leagues. This excludes the DIV I teams and some DIV II from competitive countries, in all other leagues I expect this player to perfom pretty well.

When I started this game such a player would have been worth around 300-400k I guess.

well, the problem for this guy is he has a much better competition that is affordable by even D.IV teams, so that's why he's being sold so cheap.

Also when you started this game, much less people knew a thing about secondaries, importance of PA etc.

Point Guard remains the most valuable position to train (if you are training to sell rather than keep). A low JS/JR Point Guard with a 12 OD and a 12 Passing will net you at least 700,000. That is a not that hard to train.

What's different from yesterday ?

It's going to take a long time for new users to advance in games like BB. Actually, free falling prices help new users anyway and you know very well this kind of player will only help in low leagues in the beginning.

This player seems to underscore, more than anything, the lack of understanding most users have of an appropriate training regimen. Players with high JS and JR while having mediocre skills everywhere else are all over the transfer list. These players don't perform to the level their salary would dictate and when you add in the pitiful stamina, it's no wonder the prices for these types of players is very low.

As a new user, I'm fine with the long time advancement takes. Training is still valuable for team improvement and the transfer prices for balanced, well-trained players are still relatively high.
