In these forums we are in a perpetual quest to better understand how features and tactics work. While, there is a lot of excellent work in these forums, there isn't a good way to test new strategies. This is because not enough variables are held constant and/ or not enough variables are known during scrimmages. In other words, because we only play each other team one or two times a year, we have no way of knowing the factors that created different results. We can speculate whether a guard with high driving and inside shot will exploit another guard with low inside defense, but we rarely know the exact skill sets of our opponents.
To solve this, I suggest setting up scrimmage partnerships. Each team would commit to being the other's scrimmage opponent for a season (after they are both out of the National Tournament). They would also be required to declare their formation in advance as well as share the attributes of the players they plan on using. That way, we can have perfect information while testing and deciphering tactics, attributes and strategies.
