My team's philosophy is to foul as little as possible, thus keeping the enemy out of the penalty. My question is: how long do I wait (seasons? weeks?) before giving up on a player because he fouls too much.
I know players will foul a bit less once defense is developed, but my understanding is that it will only help the problem a little. Through 72 minutes my player has committed 10 fouls. Normally, I reject any player who fouls, on average, more than once every 20 minutes (or 2.4 fouls per 48 minutes).
I have seen some players on the transfer list who fouled a lot in their first 1-2 seasons and then got considerable better. How often does that happen? And, once again, how long should I wait before deciding my player is indeed foul prone (and selling him)?
btw, if someone wants to give me an estimate of his value, I'd be glad to hear it. I'll be training him until I sell him and I expect to receive more than the Buzzerbeater estimate.
