This may have been discussed before, apologies for the redundency.

I bought a new SG few weeks back. Ive had him play in about 12 games in my team now. The idea was to upgarde my current SG.
But the new guy SG is really having a hard time making an impact, when compared to the previous SG. All of his stats are better than the old SG, and im not playing different tactics or different lineups. His rating is fantastic, much better than the previous SG, but he is really struggling offensively. like, REALLY struggling.

He got injured a few games ago, so ive put my old SG back into the starting lineup and he just goes back to the way he has been performing previously.
Its like this new SG i have purchased is suffering from 'new guy syndrome'. He is the new guy on the team and doesnt quite know how to fit in etc.
Does anyone know if there is some kind of factoring with this in the game? Do players who have played together a long time play better than players who havent?

I don't believe there is a familiarity bonus for players. I have the same thing. I bought a new center very similar to one I sold but younger. Ratings wise the new on is better, but his stats are quite a bit less to the tune of 8 pt. 4rebs, 1 st and 1 block less per game. I think there is another stat in play not longevity with the team.

Check his stats in the past seasons, maybe he really plays like that. Or maybe his skills does not fit your team unlike your old SG. Like he might be a defensive, inside oriented SG, and you might be using outside based offense.

Experience determines a lot check wich guys experience is higher. If the old guy experience is higher it means he's outperforming your new one because of experience.

Thanks everyone for the comments.

Stats wise. These are the differences.

new guy has better stats on all skills except for IS, which is the same... Rebounding, inside def, and experience are lower (experience iis only 1 stat level difference).
These are hardly things which i thought would make a difference to a guy playing SG.
also, game shape has yet to be a problem.

At this stage, I havent played the new guy enough yet to really discover what the deal is, but maybe my expectations were just unrealistic.

yer that might be it, ill have to buy a few more spanish guys for him to talk to!

Stamina is not an issue, both players stamina stat is the same.

I wasnt really expecting him to come in and score 20 ppg, because I play a low-post offence most of the time. But I have to admit, my team's offensive flow has improved since he has started playing.

The interesting thing is, is that his assists are the same as my previous SG (compared to last year) but his shot numbers are just way down. Last season my SG took on average about 10 shots per game for a 13ppg average.

My new SG is only taking 6.5 shots per game, for 7 ppg average. His FG% is the same compared to last year.

The only theory that i have, is that my C and PF ive been training last year and this year, and so now they are compotent enough to take more shots per game, because their shooting stats are up. Their numbers are slightly up.
But still, nearly 4 shots less per game, on average? For no other benefit? Seems odd to me.
Anyways, he is injured and due back in a couple of weeks. I will put him back in when he is better, and see how he goes for the rest of the season.

That might be it.
Additionally he might have a better passing skill, and together with the inside orientated tactics and the better flow your guards just don´t need to take that many shots than last season.
Play an outside offense and he will on average be better than your former SG.

I bought a player a few days ago and in his first game, while in proficient GS, shot 2-24 against a crappy defense...
