I think you need to be a lot more specific. If your 18 year old pallstar is your trainee then the answer would be until he caps. If you train him properly that should be at age 22 or 23. (My allstar would be capped at 21 but I was careful to train secondaries so he isn't quite capped yet but will be by the end of the season.)

I'm still training my NT PG. He's 28. Last week he popped in OD. If you drafted him and he's good, don't sell him until you have to. Those homegrown guys are good for your t-shirt sales (merchandise $$$). However, I'm in a different situation and can't really train 18 year olds in my league. I suppose I could, but I don't.

You make a good point. I have also on occasion given training to older players, especially when doing 2-position. But when you are in the lower leagues you really want to improve your team as fast as possible, so you really need to be training those young guns. If you have a 28 y.o. superstar tagging along as the 3rd trainee, even better!

I have another question regarding age.

I have a 32 years old player and a level 4 trainer, specialized in career extension. When should I expect his drops and at which rate? Is it true that this ability works the same no matter the level?

the rate is random, and career extention works in your favour. but i am quite sure, that he would loose at least a little talent starting with age 33(maybe without a skilldown)

23yo superstar 50k salary not close to capping, worth to train? Or is training getting already to slow at this age and is better to buy new 18yo trainee?

Thanks for answers, regards

If he is already at $50,000 you would be crazy not to continue training him so he can be a beast right up to the NBBA level. However I would try to push the secondary skills more than the primary. A well balanced $70,000 capped superstar will be more cost effective than a mono-skilled $100,000 capped superstar.

Ok thanks. He is already well balanced, first six skills are all between 13-15. Just one more question, until what age it is reasonable to train, of course if he's not capped? At what age does training become much slower?

IF he is a 50k 23 year old superstar you should would cap him in a season or two of training anyway. Most people don't think it is worth training players once they are 25 unless they are very special like NT players, but opinions vary.
