Well, i have tried it today and to me it seems useless. Ofc, this may work fine when there is just one great offensive guard, not two or three, and maybe someone else can confirm this.

this is the game I'm talking about.

At about 80% of their shots, they were defended by the PF or C, and yes a lot of them were jumpshots, so I'm not talking about driving layups. This seems totally useless, why would someone use the principle of the box-and-one like this? Granted that this could be the case if the jumpshots were all from the baseline but they weren't. Anyone else encountering weird results with this?

To me, just the fact that you can't choose the two players (the one who defends, and the one defended or at least the position defended), marks the BoA defences as crappy.

Because most of the times you will have 1 player that will defend m2m so that means that with just 2 outside players, the PF-C will have to defend more shots than in compare to the 3-2.

If you wanna run this defense i think that you need a PF with OD 9-10 and C with 7 or similar.

I've watched a few Inside box-and-one defenses against Look inside. The team who played Look inside had two equally good players on PF and C. What happened was GE picked one of them, let's say it was the C, and C had very bad shooting percentage while PF had normal or even good one. If C would have been much better than PF, I'm sure Inside box-and-one would work even better. But all in all, I still prefer M2M.
