Looking for an advice.
I'm currently fourth in my league; i did everything in my latest games to end at 5th place in order to save some money (probably about 150k$ in saved salary - gate receipt for one PO game) and get a higher draft pick.
Sadly, I unexpectedly won on tuesday and now the only way to reach my purpose is to forfeit the last game.

The only drawback I can see is that I would get just one game for training instead of three in the next week (i.e., one more, probably unnecessary, stamina boost).

Anything else I should consider? Would playing the playoffs have any meaningful impact on next season's ticket sales?
What would you do in my shoes?

I would come in 4th only if you think you have a chance to beat the number 1 seed. Being 5th will make you more revenue, but you lose training minutes.

It is a question of what is more important: Training or extra cash.

You will get two games every week during the playoffs if u come 5th so u will have enough mins for 1 pos training on 2 players..... the only benefit you get from being in the playoffs and coming 4th is the last seasons performance rating in the fan survey will be a ball a higher and that could impact ticket sales a bit but not too much... if ur trying to get a higher pick and you think u cant win and youre gonna lose 150k then mite aswell forfeit IMO

I'd try to get in PO. You add experience (something hard to increase), some money and getting as far as possible increases fan attendance and merchandising.

I'll never never try to be out of PO. Rebuiling? Maybe. Losing to save money? No way in any game. Losing to face the other seed? Risky.
Again: to save money? Never.

Hire some 1k salary scrubs to make a roster and get ur trainee his 48 minutes and uropponent gets his minutes.

Then train a 2 pos skill when you clinch 5th till next season and save money.

No, that would not do: I really need to forfeit... unless I manage to get a 182 point loss with three players, that is. :)

Btw, I forgot to ask: if I forfeit, will my opponent get full training minutes? I think you're implying that this is not the case.

Your opponent can't get 48 minutes for 1 player in the same position.

Sorry?

Just to understand, let's say that I forfeit the game, and my opponent only dresses one player in each role.
Will his players get 48 minutes each (well, provided they don't get fouled out or injured) or what?

Also, if I dress three players there will be no forfeit, right?

Thank you all for the info, I've been playing BB for a while but I've had no experience with forfeits so far...

If you forfeit his players can't get 48 minutes. For a forfeit the starter, backup and reserve are each allocated a certain amount of minutes but there is a penalty applied if all 3 are the same which prevents a player getting 48 minutes.

If u dress 3 players u don't forfeit.

If you forfeit, your opponent gets the following minutes:
Starter = 36 minutes
Backup = 10 minutes
Reserve = 2 minutes

If any player is set as the starter and backup at a position, he only gets 41 minutes total (5 minute penalty for starter + backup -> 36 + 10 - 5 = 41)
If any player is set as the starter, backup, and reserve at a position, he only gets 43 minutes total (36 + 10 + 2 - 5 = 43)
If any player is set as the starter and reserve at a position, he gets 38 minutes total (36 + 2 = 38).

I'm not sure what happens if a player is set at starter and backup at one position and backup at another, but for single position training, that doesn't really matter.

Common courtesy would dictate that if you intend to submit a WO lineup, you pre-notify your opponent, so he can adjust his lineup if he wants.

In addition to not getting training minutes, you also won't get any benefit from TIE on a game you walkover (so you'll be in an enthusiasm hole compared to actually playing & TIEing the game).

BB-Charles has often maintained that finishing higher in the league standings will more than offset the short term "economic loss" of having to pay the week of salaries while you get curbstomped in the first playoff round.
