According to the game manual, I should have the home advantage in my relegation 3 game series, but i do not. Can someone explain why this is not so? I won 9 games, he won 6.

"When there is a best-of-three series, the team with the better win-loss record has the home-court for the first match and for the tie-breaker (if a third game is necessary), and the lower-ranked team has the home-court for the second match."

6th place always has home court advantage over 7th for the 1st and 3rd (if required) game. The rules arn't that clear but they are only talking about the finals and not relegation series.

Thanks for clarifying. "the rules aren't that clear" is being generous. As they are written, I should be getting 2 home games. Someone should really fix them. It isn't that hard to write it up:

The end of a season isn't all fun and glory, however. Four teams from each division will be demoted to a lower level of divisions. The 8th seed in each conference is automatically demoted, and the 6th-ranked team from each conference competes with the 7th-ranked team from the other conference in a best-of-three relegation series. The sixth placed team has the home-court for the first match and for the tie-breaker(if a third game is necessary). The fifth-ranked teams are safe, but they dont get a shot at the championship, either.

For the single-match eliminations, the team with the higher standing is given the home-court advantage. For the best-of-three conference winners series, the team with the better win-loss record has the home-court for the first match and for the tie-breaker (if a third game is necessary), and the lower-ranked team has the home-court for the second match.

I think there's a case to be made that you should host all three, since with the better record you should have 1 and 3, and as the lower-ranked team you should host the second. ;)
