This has probably been suggested before, but I couldn't find it. :)

When I search for TLed players I only bid on the ones with a reasonable time because if it ends at Midnight I'm not going to be on. To fix this we should have an Auto-bid system so you don't have to be online when it ends to get the player. All you would have to do is type in your highest bid and then it would bid for you.

Example:

The price is currently $100,000.
You want to bid up to $300,000.
You set that price and the bid goes up to $101,000.
If someone tries to bid $102k-$300k your bid would go 1k above theirs.

I think that this would be quite helpful while bidding for players.

Poll:  Do you agree?

I agree totally.
There are higher priority things needed first.
I disagree.
I hate this suggestion.

Buy a different player at a different time then.

I find this suggestion quite interesting, but we should be thinking of other details.
1) respect minimum allowed bid - I think it's max. (2% of actual bid, $1,000)
2) how about the situation when 2 or more teams set auto bid?
Think of situation of biding some player:
Team A bid $100,000 and set max. bid for auto-bid $300,000.
Team B set max. bid for auto-bid $300,000.
What is formula for setting the price and bidder at that moment?

Basically I didn't like your answer.

This is not a solution to the question raised, but just a workaround. And even not that.
I think that a real issue, that worth improving, had been raised here.

Generally, there is a feeling from the suggestion's forums here that the current state of mind is "don't touch no matter what".
I think it is a wrong approach for this great idea of BB site, and that BB can get even better by listening to suggestions of others, that implies of problems users have with some of current BB features, with an open mind.

Thanks

I am open minded. But honestly - this is not ebay. It´s a huge market, and there´s different buying and selling strategies. Set up your player to end the auction when a big-time market has a peak in online-status, set up your player so that his "origin" market has a peak in online status, set up a player in the "weak time" because you want to hide him so that someone special can buy him. Set up a player without pondering when or where.

I find it quite entertaining to go into a bidding war against 2-3 people from Australia, Brazil and maybe Asia, so you can hope that someone drops out just because he´s getting tired, aswell as I like to avoid guys from Spain or Italy´s lower leagues, because those tend to overpay alot. By making all players accessible via autobidding you erase the time-component and make things a pure "who is willing to go far enough" thing, instead of having to put a different effort into acquiring a player.

You´re basically ERASING possibilities instead of creating them with your proposal. And you make it a buyers market, as they are able to lowball and STILL make sure they get him, where as of now, they have to go to their threshhold, if they want to make sure.

Summed up: buy another player another time.

What you have raised are the requirements to the feature raised here.
They are important requirements, but does not make the suggestion one that could not be met.

Here is an example of a solution;

The order of the biding will be upon the order of the settings!

Because you have raised an important req. for this feature I will add another one.
Currently after each bid there is 3 minutes until the auction ends.
I will suggest that the first one and a half minutes of it will be given to the online users to set a bid before letting the automatic bid to take place.
I will also not let the automatic bid be executed in general before getting to this last one and an half minutes.

Hoping that this answers the issue you've raised.

The best reason is "you are willing a certain sum for this player, pay it".

Let me focus on the only one line that defines an answer here.

There is a reason why it is call bidding and why it is run as it is when each team may bid several times to get the lowest price he can and below the maximum he wanted to bid for that player.
Your answer is just another (bad) workaround (and again not exactly that).

There is no reason not to improve it.
At least none that had been raised here.

And now to the other lines...

Yes, one can search the entire BB (or the entire web for other matters), but this is also a bad workaround instead of giving a simple answer to a "hot" question / suggestion raised here.
What this kind of answer will cause is that no one will come with his suggestions.
Each one has different point-of-view and this forum was defined exactly for that - to use this power of big comunnity for improving the game.

Suggestions are wheels in the direction for improvements.
