My tournament game is against a bot and I'm wondering if I can play my back-up players and still play TIE and win?

Hmm Ill say if your guards have atleast 5-8 handling and passing and your bigs are good down low, you can play Look Inside or Low Post and still win. Just scout the team and see which one of the players score a lot on the team and put your good defenders on that player.

Yes, will be very fine. And look at the bot's roster: highest salary will play PG, the next plays SG and so on, so you can figure out what Offense to play eg. play inside offenses if they put guards on C/PF spots, or play RnG/Motion etc if they put Cs/Fs as guards. I'd usually look at their last game rating too.
