It is a simple display suggestion, for avoiding not-intended mistakes;
Adding a comma-separator in the salary and auction's price.
Meaning, that instead of displaying the price like "3 034 123", it will be displayed "3,034,123".

Problem here is that using commas are not universal. Some countries use "." instead of "," and will cause global confusion for everyone

I believe that current status is causing confusion to all.
Using any separator that can be recognized easily (and not the space that is currently used on some of the places), will do the work.
The separator used is something that one can get used to.

Just because you use "," does not necessarily mean it is the same thing in other parts of the world.

I know in Europe, they tend to use "," for separating dollar/cents values and will confuse everyone.

If this is a US game I will agree with you but since it is a global game, and commas can mean different things in different countries, this will just confuse people

I'll repeat...

Use ":" for all I care. It will cause much less confusion than current status.

If adding something will add even more confusion, then sometimes adding nothing at all is the best option.

if the price is not in the million era, and i see something like 35,435 i wouldn't think that it means 35435.

":" would look like time.

"." is more common for it at least here(germany), we write in rare occasion something like 3.455,3 for 3444,3 - but on international papers i also see the "." for the comma and this would confuse again.

And isn't the above 10* of the actual bid, rule not the protectiona gainst mistakes. If you post a numer to few, it won't work, like it wouldn't work if you put one to much into it. Also there are spaces already there, which are quite universially.

maybe this can be set as an option somewhere?

Under the default language in perferences, i would have thought this would indicate the seperateor for the currencies?

if not, maybe it could be added there. I think its fairly standard isnt it? USA use comma's, Aus we dont use them, (although, looking at netbank now, they are.. hmm).

No it isn't. US and AUS use commas as the thousand separators and a dot (full stop) to separate where dollar ends and cents begins etc $123,456.78

In Europe, they do it the other way around. They use the dot for thousand separators and the dot to seperate between euro cents so they would end up with $123.456,78

This is clearly more confusing for everybody.

There already is a universally understood separator, a (white) space, used for both the auction price and player salary. I can even quote you on this:
displaying the price like "3 034 123"

I anyway prefer it the current way, it makes working with different programs and language versions (Excel etc.) easier.

The current system is way better than one with comas or dots.
