Ive had this thought in.my head awhile and decided I finally say something. This will probably be one of those that everyone hates because it would change the whole system but it woud be more realistic then we have now.

SUGGESTION
Allow higher salary rookies that would mimic star like players.

What I mean is allow a few "Star" players come out of the draft with much higher salaries than they do now. An example would be having a SG in the draft with 20k salary. This way, those "star"players can contribute right away. Even in some better leagues. There would be a catch to doing this though.

THE CATCH
The "star" players that come out with 20k or so salary woud still have potential just like everyone else. This would mean these "star" players would cap quicker but will be able to help a team right away.

EXAMPLES
Dwight Howard: would start with 20-30k salary or more and would have MVP/HOF potential.
Dwayne Wade: would start with 15-20k salary and MVP potential
Darren Collison: would start at 15-20k salary but only have maybe allstar potential

Those are just some exampes of players starting with higher salary but still have different potentials. I think this would make the draft be more realistic and could really help the teams at the bottom. BUT if this happens, I think the whole scouting system would have to change to help the worst teams.

i don't like it.

With the very fast training we have, which gave player really an incredible amount of improvement i don't want to have such strong starters.

I think if we want rookies who could be stars from the begin, then we should have really low training impact, cause dwight howard didn't improved much after the draft too - and probadly startet with 150k salary ;)

I don't like the idea. Draft players can start to contribute right away in div4, even higher in some countrys. If you want to have 20k players from the draft they have to be 23 years old or something. The catch should always be, you can train 18 year old ahead of anyone else. If the draftee is older, he can not have skills equal to 18yo with optimal one position training for that age.

Your suggestion is not balanced in the current training system.

Thanks for the reply guys! I didnt think many people would like this idea. But, what if we did make those players older? That would then mean there is an incentive to getting older players out of the draft.
