I just played a game in my PL using the Blank Lineup theory, leaving Starters & Backups blank but putting the players I want to use on the bench, so allowing the game to make all the choices for me.
This, to me, seems to make this game kind of pointless. All you need to do is sign a Talent pool of players & don't worry about working out the best line up or rotation, because the DB will do that bit for you. Not only that, but because of the way the Subs come in & out it bolsters your overall stats.
So my question is why does this happen? If you put in a bench but no starters, then you have no one on the court, so why not make people figure out how to setup there team & make the score 25-0 to the team that actually put in a starting lineup? If two good teams play like this all the time I would think it would go with home court, as one Manager wouldn't be able to out think the other.

It's called coach, and he is the one who does the right decisions for you if you don't manage on your own ;)

And the full blank lineup isn't always ideal, especially when it comes to selecting players for the SF position.

I was told a long time ago, that a coach doesn't manage your team. He trains them & maybe helps manage the minutes, I could be wrong on the last part.

Based off of my game it was fine. I had a 2,3 & 5 play there & still pulled the same Defense I pull when I do the lineup myself & the offense was alot better on the Inside because of it.

While the blank lineup might give a better performance, it eliminates your control of minutes for training and gameshape purposes. That's enough of a negative to prohibit most teams from using it regularly.

I thought of that, but in the Playoffs or a Cup game on neutral court when your Game Shaping & going for the win, it would give you a big advantage over some who didn't know about it.

Does it actually give you a better lineup then you would have chosen yourself?

Having never tried the blank line-up, it might be interesting to see what happens. Of course, the great drawback with this is you obviously can't train players in chosen positions.
