Karaoke. God's gift to drunk people. Well. at least that what I've always supposed. But appearantly the Mexican police disagree. Dude, I was just at the hotel bar having a few celebratory drinks after the 97-93 win over Canada by the U21 squad
(17158) and looking through the playlist. There was no Star-Spangled Banner in the Mexican karaoke machine, but but there was the Canadian national anthem? What the hell? So I adapted and sang this version of O Canada with every ounce of patriotic juice I could muster:
(you know you wanna sing along:)
(http://www.pch.gc.ca/pgm/ceem-cced/symbl/MP3/O-Canada-Ins...)Now O for 10
The lifetime record stands
against the mighty USA our defense was unmanned
Vickers lit it up and torched our wings
Our guards could only flee
We let you down
O Canada, on this we all agree
hoops ain't our game, it's not our cup of tea
O Canada, we beg pardon from thee
O Canada, we were outgunned by Yi
Long story short, one man's patriotic artistry is another's "inciting a riot". It's not my fault the Canadian coaching staff can't take a ribbing without punching up the place. magiker said he'll bail me out by next week's game against Chile, which is cool because it's going to take me that long to figure out some lyrics to the Chilean national anthem.
