I was looking at the tactics menu, and I noticed there are far more outside based defense tactics than inside ones.
This, I think, is where some of the complaining about 2-3 could be mitigated. (note: I am not saying the 2-3 is or is not broken). This new tactic would provide another option for people who think the 2-3 is broken. For example, people say that the FCP is very ineffective, but no one complains because they have a multitude of other options to choose from.
This new tactic would provide a boost to inside defense and rebounding, but would rely on total team inside defense to prevent manuevering by big men, or drives by guards. It would effectively try to stop all shots but 3s and long 2s.
It would differ 2-3 by not relying so much on shotblocking by bigs, but rather inside defense by guards.
Now, I think the tactic should be introduced in PLs and scrimmages in order to test it and make sure it is not too strong or weak. Then, maybe later, 2 or 3 seasons from now, introduced for cup and league play.
What do you guys think?
