the answer is no, the home team win rule counts for cup games since you need a winner there. In a league match it counts as a 0:0 and but teams loose through it or at least don't win. In the cup final there was a test also, and no team get the trophy then.

http://www.buzzerbeater.com/team/26193/schedule.aspx?seas...At this season is was a bit buggy, cause in the end of the season calculation the system had problems with the missing game, so it was counted as a win for the home team before the draft so that the Munchkins played the relegation(and rucker finished 5th what both team wanted to avoid with it), but drafted after the rucker squad. but i think(hope) this bug should be fixed.
edit:I just see how they fix it, the home team now get the win immediately. So
home team wins seems to be right even if i don't like the solution
