Just an idea...

Is there anyway to show how well a player played defensively during a game(besides shot blocks and steals)? Something along the lines of a defense rating or maybe (# of shots made against)/(# shots attempted against). Not sure if it is possible but just a suggestion.

Yes but if they have a outstanding offensive game, wouldn't that mask if their defense was shoddy? There are so many other offense stats, so you pretty much know where they stand offensively.
