I've been only playing about a week now and I'm in need of some knowledge about this game...
How to improve my team?
http://www.buzzerbeater.com/team/29710/players.aspx
- I only have $40,000
- $50,000 Player Salaries (12 Players)
- $40,000 Staff Salaries
- $10,000 Scouting
- Arena: http://www.buzzerbeater.com/team/29710/arena.aspx

What are some important tips/hints to know about this game?
How to make more money faster?
How to spend money?
How to find the best combination for roster?
Anything Else?

- Thanks

Your first bet would be to read through the help forums. It takes a little time to absorb what you need but reading through it will help you get started. http://www.buzzerbeater.com/community/forum/read.aspx?thr...

There are a lot of important aspects to this game. It took me a season before I really started to have a grasp on how things work. Here are a few things to keep in mind.

1) Next season starts in a week and you will be demoted to D.V since your team finished in last. This was not your fault nor is it a bad thing for you at the moment. Once next season starts you can view the average player salaries for your division to get a feel for how much you should be spending there.

2) The only worthwhile staff member to have above basic for now is a trainer and that is only if you understand how training works. 3 18-19 year olds with at least allstar potential can get you started. Make sure they are all bigs or smalls depending on what you want or what is available.

3) Once you know who you want train a few players 8-10k salary can probably keep you competitive in D.V. If your trainees are small then make these players big or vica versa.

4) To make money you will have to start expanding your arena and winning games.

5) Game Shape is very important to this game. Players need to play roughly 52-65 minutes a week to maintain a good game shape. Opinions on exact number vary depending on who you ask but if someone is playing more then 75 or less than 48 minutes a week they are going to have a low game shape and play poorly.

But most important is to read the guide and if you have time try to look around help forums to see what questions others ask and see how others respond. If you are patient and you read around the forums things will make more and more sense as you play.

I am only 2.5 seasons in but I feel like I have a decent grasp on things at the moment.

way too much on staff

as a beginner i would suggest

basic doctor $2k
pasic pr $2k
advanced trainer w fitness spec $10k

that is 14k a week

i just saved u 26k every week, u can send me 1/2 as a cheque

yup i agree with abigfishys advice... too much salary on your staff.

So how do you do something about it? Go to the 'Staff' page... There are two buttons against ur 3 staff members. Click the 'Find Replacement' button and this will take you to the Staff Transfers page. Use the filters to search for an appropriate staff member. like abigfishy said, 'Basic' skill level for a doctor etc etc.

You will then see a list of the staff available for sale. Some will have a higher weekly salary than others. Obviously try and buy one with the lower salary. You should be able to pick up a new doctor for example, for $1000 or $2000 and his salary will be about $5k.

So do that for all ur staff until your happy. Staff salary around $15k as others have suggested.

My only other suggestion - do NOT go out and buy/sell players until you understand the game a bit more. Im talking months here. Learn who the best players on your team are and why... dabble with some tactic changes, learn how to book scrimmages for every week. Start to read up on training and how training works. but DO NOT BUY OR SELL players. once you get a handle for how the game works, you will a) have some saved $$$ and b) will be less likely to buy/sell someone incorrectly.

and dont be afraid to ask question on forums/mail messages. best o luck.

i agree with what was said but buying a couple of cheap but good players will help ur team a lot @ the start for not much cost

sack most of the garbage u r given @ the start & for no more than 10k u will be able 2 get much better players just look 4 at least respectable in the main stats u want & if u can get some much higher all good

u r much better off iwth 1 x 10k player than 3 x 3k guys

& with a little patience u can even replace 90% of ur starting team with much better players bought for 1k each

but saving most of ur money @ the start is good

maybe the 1 exception i would make, next week after the draft there will be a ton of rookies, find a high potential 19 year old w good starting skills in the position u want to train, should cost $50k or less
