Anyone else believe there is something wrong with teams tanking and losing games on purpose for the purpose of making money or am I all alone in this?

I just promoted to Div. 4 and when I got there I started scouting teams to see how I stacked up in my new league, and found a team that played last season at Div. 3 with only three players on the roster and lost every game, many of them by 100 points, to go 0-22.

He saved a ton of money and has now put together a team with player salaries of 70K, 50K 40K and in that range. He says he has enough money to keep these players all season with no problem. His weekly player salaries are 350K. I can't compete with that and I'm sure most others in our league cannot either.

It's been already analyzed in the forums. that's why, for example, we have a salary floor. that's punishment fo tanking.

Wait for the end of season and check if those players are still there, 350k it's pretty hard to sustain at that level, unles he had been saving before.

Take a closer look at what he has done. He only tanked one season and didn't make too much from transfers prior to that when comparing the costs of his new players. His salaries are way too high for his arena (which should have been expanded drastically a season ago to support such huge future salaries). What he earned has already partially been blown on purchasing the players, even with lots of cup success his team will be hard to budget and will end up either disbanded or players will be sold. Wait to get a better plan of attack to find the teams strengths, weaknesses and overall direction as one season of tanking will leave trouble for the salaries he has on the team.
