This guy will cap between $35K to $50K with his Star potential. How should I train him? What position do you think he will be best at when he caps, and what kind of training should I do on him? What should I concentrate on this year?

How many seasons will I have to train this guy for him to reach his cap?

I'm currently in USA D4 league and don't expect to get higher than D3 for several more seasons, so I plan to train this guy to cap and I fully expect when he caps he will be a very good to star player in D3 and below. I have a future PG and SG already, so I had planned on training this guy for SF. What are your thoughts?

If he were a higher potential like HOF or All Time Great, I would think his height would mean something in his training and make his miss a few pops that would keep him from reaching his cap. But with his cap being in the $35K to $50K range, I wouldn't think his size would matter much at all. He should still cap rather easily, probably before the end of his age 20 season maybe?

This lad will never become a decent SF, you will lose a lot of time training up his inept rebounding and stamina...

Find someone else with at least perennial allstar potential. I trained an Allstar to be an SF and was pretty disappointed how fast he capped once his skills were good enough to put him in the starting lineup.

Thanks a lot for this link. What exactly does this do for my player? Or, how do I read it? I kinda understand it, but not fully.

For example, when I enter my guy in, I get this

Zawodnik o tych skillach wykorzystał swój potencjał do poziomu:
(Potential Score)
1,700

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Szczegóły (Details):

PG : 1,475
SG : 1,560
SF : 1,700
PF : 1,370
C : 0,840

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Następne skoki zużyją następujące ilości potencjału:
(Next pops will change Potential Score as below)

JS : 1,990 ( + 0,290 )
JR : 1,870 ( + 0,170 )
OD : 1,830 ( + 0,130 )
HN : 1,725 ( + 0,025 )
DV : 1,715 ( + 0,015 )
PS : 1,735 ( + 0,035 )
IS : 1,725 ( + 0,025 )
ID : 1,825 ( + 0,125 )
RB : 1,865 ( + 0,165 )
BS : 1,715 ( + 0,015 )

It means that player exploited his potential to level = 1,700.
So if his potential is below 1,700 it means that he is capped already. And if his potential is above 1,700, it means that he isn't still capped.
You can write future skills (and test many versions of skills) to check how long You can train him, or how good potential You need.
Allstar = 6,000 - 6,999, etc.

Wow. This is going to be very helpful.

Is there a website that explains this tool? Like where can I find what the cap number is for Star and HOF and such? You show Allstar above.
