Im pretty sure it changes every season. So it probably changed in the offseason processing. Or maybe because a new coach signed up and took over a bot team.

You know what just happened? a mirracle! i am not joking

after i red your post i was dreaming that my rival wouldnt have me as rival anymore and it happened! Checked his rival and its some fricken bot now, not be again, he had me as rival last time i checked, probably 2-3 days ago:D So they probably updated rivals. Maybe because 2 teams got me as their rival, so 1 of them got changed rival.
