I was thinking about helping the game finally get back on track and one part of this could be developing mobile applications for this game. I really dont know anything about coding, but I guess that with the help of Marin we could get something going.

So the core of my idea is to 1.find users (preferably some GMs, the spearheads of this game) that can define what an app should be able to do, 2. how it should look like, 3.how much it would cost and 4. finally find somebody who would code it (if necessary a freelancer).

The userbase could raise the money (I estimate sthg. between $3-5k), everybody that donated for the development would get the app for free, some kind of trophy, tickets for a raffle that has prizes like lifetime supporter, whatever...

This is just a rough concept! Haters plz stay out, naysayers go away, people who can add useful information please feel free to post your thoughts

Hm, I expected different reactions. Strange enough that the ususal suspects dont show up in this topic.

I wonder where all those "man up! its only a few bucks goddamnit!"-guys are hiding :D

I will pay for and app like that, it will be a great thing! I will also help if you guys need help, but I also don't know anything about coding or whatever.

I dont think that would work.

From the Ask the BB thread we have learned that:

Marin does not even know what "app" means, so I doubt he could code one - Edju, Patrick and Raymund are either statisticans or learning the whole stuff.

However RiP said, that this BB mobile topic was brought up at one point, but they lack the manpower...

So I would prefer to "outsource" such a project, give it to a company that has the manpower and the experience. Freelancer-sites are full of Indian companies that have good ratings and testimonials.

Some GMs should make a plan what this app looks like, present it to the community and start the fundraising - then look for a freelancer and in a couple of weeks/months...
