People, sorry to ask such a stupid question, but what is TSP (total skill points)? I thought it was perhaps the total sum of the twelve skills...but i could not find it anywhere...i just found it mentioned by chance and could not quite grasp its meaning/importance...can anyone please show me the light on this matter? I appreciate all the help...

it is the sum of all the player's skills, but often people don't include stamina and free throw (like me). That's because training stamina and free throw does not slow down as the player ages. It's a crude measurement, because not all skills are equally important for a player, depending on his position. Does that help?

It does help a lot, thank you! But how this really works? Because i think you have to weight the statistics a little...For instance, if someone has a TSP of 100 and his a PG and another has the same TSP but plays as a C, is it important to weight some of the skills towards one specific position ( in the example the JS for the PG must weight more than for the C, and rebounds weights more to the C than to the PG).

I agree it is not always useful when comparing between positions. Sometimes it can be good to break it into guard skills and big man skills. But it can still be a useful shorthand for thinking about trainees. Typically single position trained players will get 10-13 pops in their first season, and then that number drops by a couple every year as the player ages. Knowing that, and knowing the average quality of players at given total skill point levels, you can kinda estimate if a potential trainee might be worth your time.
