Hey guys, i've noticed that my team tends to 'fade' in the 4th quarter alot, especially against equal, or better opponents.

ill keep up for the first few quarters, and then i'll get absolutely massacred.

For example, in my recent league game, i was doing ok for the first three quarters, 22-18, 18-19, 16-22 but then i got burnt in the 4th for 18-36.

my question is, is this just the way the game's mechanics work? where the weaker team always burns out in the 4th?

or is it related to fatigue, or something, since i'm training my centre, so i'm playing strictly follow depth chart.

or is there a hidden clutch factor?

some explanations would be welcome, thanks.

The players did worse in the 4th quarter most likely because of stamina being low.

Some people say usually the better team makes a run in the second half (thats how they think the game engine works) and yes it is also because of stamina, you should have your main players/starters at atleast 4-8, a lot of people dont like it too high because it usually messes up player's minutes.

I'm new to this game so I know my team is basically a bunch of scrubs that make Kwame Brown look good right now. This also means their stamina and experience is low. But I got the tactics right (at least as far as I know) and the other team didn't even use subs, only putting one bench guy on for 4 minutes. So when I got a 7 point lead at the end of the 3rd I thought I had the W. The other team must've been tired right? But then my team blew up and missed almost every shot and surrendered the lead. We got it back with a 3 with 4 seconds to go, only for them to get a LAYUP FROM 12 FEET OUT to win. Was I destined to lose just because it was my first league game in BB? OR, did lack of EXPERIENCE cause my team to stumble when it was theirs to win at the start of the 4th?

If you look at his salaries, you'll see that his team is much better than yours but his game shape is horrible. On the other hand, your players are truly bad. You might consider firing 4 or 5 and picking up 1 reasonably solid player of the same salary.

hmm. so does forcing my trainee to play 48 minutes basically sacrifice the game? due to low stamina etc.

Depends on the competition. It's not so much as to make the player useless.
