what does the plus/minus mean in the player box score history table following games? also, I've noticed a number of different classifications when viewing player information under the roles section. among them, "draws a paycheck" and "rotation player." Can someone please explain these things a bit for me. after all, every player on the squad draws a paycheck, right?

+/- means while that player was in the game, how did the overall score of the game change. For example, a +10 means your team scored 10 more points than your opponent while player x was on the floor.

The roles is based on how you use your players in past games (mostly based on playing time). It's a rough system, but can be used in scouting to see which players see the most playing time.

A few players pretty much just "draw a paycheck" and don't get much playing time.

ok, so when the role says for instance, "rotation" does that refer to the substitution pattern, meaning he's part of, say, a rotation of like three different centers? Or does it mean that by rotation, he can play multiple positions on the court like center, SF, PF, etc.

It means the top 8-9 players overall on the team, not by position.

Please note that this is not telling you which players should be in the rotation, but rather which were in the rotation during the season.
