Lot's of people are worrying about balance of nations (wolph) and competitiveness in old nations (pini). So my suggestion comes from something I saw in another basketball sim called Court Rivals.

A new 'nation' would be created. A world league. Any team could join this league, their nationality and flag etc would stay the same. If an existing team wished to join this league they would need to reset their team. The new league would have divisions I II III IV etc, and would be a place for new teams and teams who don't like the size of their nation to join. Of course there would be problems such as times, languages, drafts, and others but that is why this would be an option.

Thoughts?

Do you really see someone giving-up its advantage (due to the competitiveness problem of this game) for joining this league?
As you probably saw, they do not even admit that there is one although the proven examples that are non-mistakable I've presented.

So, I like the idea, and suggest to call it BuzzerBeater-2.
And to add salary-cap, etc.
Because the same issues will raise once again, after few seasons, without them.

There´s no such thing as "proof" about competivity of old nations.

Actually that´s just a matter of perspective. Basically, in each league you´re in (leaving out the micro nations, where truly IS some issue) you can compete IN THE LEAGUE LEVEL YOU ARE within a short time.

There´s only few who keep demanding that you should be able to win it all within a hand full of seasons, but that´s the difference between arcade and long-term simulation, isn´t it?

Competivity overall is fine. With the various strategies you CAN compete for promotion / top places of your league level in short time.

That beeing said - I don´t see a huge advantage over the World League over the Nations Leagues. There has to be a way to fix the Mirconations Problem, but the downsides and intangibles of the World League Structure outweigh the upside.

And I don´t really see how the "World League" would fix the competivity issue claimed by Pini anways.

This worked well in Court Rivals, I guess the problem here is the different nationalities.

IF this were implemented, I would not like the option to join this 'nation'. I think if a nation is currently below a certain amount(lets say 150) of users then it would become a part of the 'world nation' but keep its nations flags and players. Then in the future if a nation dropped below 100 users for an x amount of seasons, there would be a Poll for only that nation showed on their BB news page where they will be asked if theyd like to join the world league(starting in the lowest league with a reset team) or continue in their nation.

For drafts idk if it is possible, but have the players in the draft be nationless until drafted and then they get the nation of thw country that chose them.

Language shouldn't be a problem because you choose your own language anyways.

Timezone is something that you couldnt work around though.

I'm just looking for a way to get new users involved a lot quicker. Many users aren't interested by the long period of time it takes to get into a competitive league here, and maybe that just means they aren't cut out for Buzzerbeater but I think if there was a way to capture new users attentions and expand the number of active teams in this game that it would be definitely help the site.

Well, good idea for new nation user, like if country 1 had only 20 active teams, and country 2 has 300+ active teams and they're right next to each other, I think that would work. And I think a new arrangemeant of divisions would hrlp cause some of the teams in MY division are as competitive as a ant. (don't do nothin and they sundenly quit) and if they are in a worldwide division where there are teams just as or nearly competitive as them, they would stay.

I have a better idea....start a Private League and get 16 teams from other nations and then battle it out. You can call it The World League..

What you are saying is almost exact, and this is what I was fighting here for, for some time. Currently it seems that adding statistics is top priority.

The problem is not "getting to competitive league", but the fact that the game is not competitive.
This is why the game does not grow above the 50K users, altough users are joining day by day.

But, hey, let's keep our heads down, lie to all, and keep it this way...
