I thought there was a deadline for TL players being eligible for playoffs? When was it?

There is a team in my league who bought players off the TL after the final regular season game and less than 48 hours before the playoffs begin and he claims his players are all eligible. Was the deadline really that late?

There was time after the last regular season game to buy a player. We had just over a day to buy players here in Australia.
