This may sound a little strange but I'm wondering if I should try and promote,I'm the 4th seed and I beat the 1 seed last night 107-96,and the 2 seed which I have played two close games against a won once will be my opponent and I think I could win playing CT but is my arena big enough? No are my players good enough for D.IV I'm not sure so I'm asking you guys what I should do ???? thanks.
P.S This is my first season.

I think if you have the chance, you should always promote, especially if you are talking D5 to D4 USA. In D4 leagues, there are often a good number of new teams that can end up going bot, or "lightly" managed teams. Their presence should allow an actively managed team to stick around and avoid relegation. This will give you the chance for more revenue, but still allow you to train players intensively.

My own team spent two full seasons in D5, which I don't necessarily regret, so that extra year can be put to good use. Plus it did allow me to get through D4 in one season.

Hey thanks for the advice I just found out that the team I'm playing lost there star point guard so I should win easily they have 4 injuries total. and as far as game shape my team would probably have been first or 2nd but I didn't know how to manage gameshape for the first half of the season now all my guys are strong/proficiant.so I guess I'll try and win.

If you have the opportunity to promote, it is almost always best to take it. D IV isn't that much harder than D V, and if you manage your team well, you can certainly manage to avoid relegation. If you're going to promote though, start building now. The promotion bonus is significant so build as much as you can as soon as you can, and jack up your prices a fair amount to ensure maximum income. Worry about players at around the start of inter-conference play.

As has been stated by others, Promote! If you can manage gameshape and enthusiam, you will be ahead of the vast majority of division IV teams. Also most IV. managers do not know how or choose not to change their tactics so that is also a big advantage if you are paying attention.
