After today's game - I've suffered two injuries to key players; both of which are starters with hefty salaries.

I understand you have to pay team salaries on weeks your team is active in league/cup play. I just think it's ridiculous to have to pay salaries to injured players who aren't contributing any minutes. Obviously injuries are apart of the game, I may not like them, but they're not going anywhere anytime soon. Unfortunately, for me, This most likely will result to my team losing games. I just figured there should be some sort of compensation; It's no fun losing "winnable" games.

What do you guys think? Should we have to pay salaries to injured players? Honestly, I'd rather get rid of injuries in general; However, I understand people like a more realistic game. I guess you could argue: injuries help give BB a dramatic, yet exciting effect.

I get what you mean. In my 2nd and 3rd game this season, I suffered an injury that cost my team the game. Another thing that pissed me off was that those games were a rivalry and TV game. Really annoying knowing that I coulda/woulda/shoulda won those games.

I want to say no because that would be nice, but in real life teams still pay injured players salaries, and I like BB to be realistic, so I voted yes. It wouldn't be that big of a deal if we didn't have to though, I'd never be too pissed with not paying salaries. Haha

Ouch, losing TV/Rivalry games? That's money down the drain right there! That's exactly what I was hoping to avoid. I understand the importance of injuries - making the game feel more realistic; however, I feel there should be some sort of compensation. Injuries can really take a toll on your team. They can also be the difference between first and fourth place in some cases. A few seasons back, injuries in the PO's kept my team from advancing. I just don't think it's fair at times, and feel there should be something put in place to lessen the effect it has on your teams season.

I don't like the idea of completely wiping out the cost of salaries, but maybe a reduced payment would be alright.

Wow. That's harsh, man! Few seasons back, same thing happend to my team. It's really unfortunetate to say the least. You can't really do anything about it though. It's a nasty predicament. That's why I feel the need for a compensation of some sort; something to help ease the pain. I just hope my trainer can get my team back on track, soon.

Edit: here's another thought - instead of not paying injured players their salaries; how about they improve their game shape during their time off? There's nothing worst than having a player out for weeks, and then when they're able to play, their game shape is at mediocre or inept.

Well... if you want to get out of paying players because they are injured... I think then the salaries would have to switch from weekly, to seasonal. Then, if you get players at such times etc, = % of seasonal salaries etc. And because of the players' union you can't just not pay them those weeks, but maybe they get paid a decreased amount that week...

Anyways I slice it, it should be a suggestion, and would involve massive reprogramming.

That's not realistic...

In real life, when you are injured, you can't workout, can't practice, sometimes can't even partake in warm-ups and stretching.

You basically "come off the couch". By your logic on that... Carson Palmer should have owned the NFL last season. Or NBA wise, Greg ODen would have the best Gameshape of any player ever, except for maybe Yao Ming.

Yeah, those are bad examples though. Those are season/career ending injuries. No coming back from that. I was just throwing something out there. I've seen athletes come back from injuries and dominate.. Heck, Kobe played with a broken finger; MJ played with the FLU.

Andre Miller played with a seperated shoulder.
LeBron James sat out games with sprained fingers in Cleveland.

the levels vary, but in gist you get what I am saying yes?
