I noticed my last few games I have been playing Base Offense and it seems to get alot of my guys involved in scoring. I have good outside guys as well as a couple of inside guys. Unfortunately the reason I been playing Base is I have 2 hot outside guys injured. I looked at a few other high rank teams over the past few weeks and notice they also run a base offense. I know its the main offense for computerised teams as well but is there alot of Negative effects playing base????

ALSO, I tend to run Motion or PTB, but Base seems to really involve scoring out put from all my guys..maybe its working b/c i'm playing weaker teams, but when i see d-2 teams using it for tournament and league games i was shocked.

I wouldnt get used to Base. Ive played it and it just seems as my team doesnt put points up like normally. its very slow and teams can figure it out easier. I think of it as "Basic Offense"

I disagree. I think it's very underrated. I'll use it about 1/4 of the time, especially when I want more guard scoring than look inside.

Base offense is like m2m defense, not SUPER good against anything, but not bad either. So it will work at a lower division because nobody's team is that good at defending both outside and inside. However, when you reach d.3 and above(i don't say d.4 because not every d.4 league is that competitive) you really need to know where you want the bulk of your scoring to come from, either outside players or your bigs. This is because all teams at that level will be able to defend both the outside and interior. if you run base then you will have to have average scorers at all 5 positions. Which means that other teams average defenders will be able to shut you down. But say you go for an outside oriented offense. If you have 3 really good scorers(PG, SG, SF) they will torch those average defenders so therefore, you'll score more points. imagine that.

Its job is to try and make things as balanced as possible, but lets say someone runs a 3-2 against it, or has overwhelming OD, inside shots will probably increase. Of course, I know this all too well :D

Sounds like something I am potentially building, possibly two seasons away when I really think I have a shot at promoting. The 2-guard is something I need to nail! Also, I can keep IS in that range for my C, why do you think that would be effective? is this because most top teams have good defensive C's too?
