Yesterday I witnessed my star guard not being an all star for the first time since his rookie season. But more than his non selection, that's his poor results (7 000 votes) that shocked me since he's the leading scorer in my league.
This result is, in my mind, clearly because of the fact that he played 5 games at point guard and 5 at shooting guard (even 1 at small forward), for training purpose.
So I came with two suggestions:

-Make all the games count when calculating the votes, there's no way that the "fans" should ignore some games because he did not play in the position where he played the more games this season.

-Instead of having one starter and one backup for each of the five positions, make it two guards (with no distinctions between PGs et SGs), two interior players and one small forward, each for the starting and the back-up unite. it would be more realistic but would also stick with the logic of training in BB and the logic of strategy in BB.

What do you think guys?

i am pretty sure, that all games count, and just the position was taken as a endresult where he plays most. So the problem i see with your player is more that he missed 3 games, and that you have a lower visiting fanbase then other teams in your league through your small arena(it is a popularity vote).

And yes the votes are often ehm curious.

I've seen numerous times cases where a player playing different positions is underrated by the ASG votes.

As for my player, he missed two games, the back-up missed one, but still:
Marcin Żurkiewicz 79160 (starter)
Francisco Ibarrola 38011 (back up)
Aurélien Novais 16426
Ballago Diarra 7074 (my player)
there's too much of a difference to be just those two games missed.

don't put many importance to voting results... they don't show whovh player is better... sometimes from 1 place team is easier to be in All start team...

I know, that's why I suggest to change it ;)
