Hi guys,

Newbie question: When training older players (>25y), does Potential limit a player's training speed or just their peak attribute level?

Reason I'm asking: Got a player that's older with an attribute that's very low that I want to train up. Potential is pretty good (for my level league) so I was thinking about intensely training him to bring it to a more acceptable level. Will the fact that he's older really slow down his training regardless of his high potential, or will he train at a decent rate until he hits his potential's "soft cap" for that attribute?

It also goes to the question of training strategy. IF Potential primarily limits peak attribute level before kicking in the soft cap brakes, then it would make more sense to essentially ignore secondary or tertiary attributes until the player is older, wouldn't it?

Thanks in advance, guys!

Thanks for the info!

Man, this game has a STEEP learning curve! There are so many factors that go into every decision! Once I get the hang of it, I'll probably love it because it makes the game infinitely challenging, but right now I feel like a complete idiot!

Oh well, time to try to refigure my team strategy (AGAIN!!!!)

I greatly appreciate the help!!!

At the early stages, I would recommend building arena. That's pretty easy to do as you can see where you're selling out.

Try to identify specific positions where your team needs help and watch the transfer list to get an idea of prices. The cheapest now are C which would easily put your team over the hump in Div. V. Just don't spend too much.

You can probably get an 18 year old trainee for under $10,000 and you can practice training. Start training and if you screw up, you should be able to sell him for more than you spent.

Most of the game is just common sense and, to emphasize again, as long as you build your arena you'll be fine. At most, you'll spend an extra season in Div. V.
