Newbie question time again!

Trying to do some financial planning for my team and was wondering: Does TV money continue to come in during the playoffs for all teams? How about marketing money? I assume the playoffs are three weeks (Conference Semifinals, Conference Championship, League Championship), so what do teams that are eliminated do during that time? Do they get to have more than one scrimmage a week? Is there any financial windfall from winning a playoff game other than attendance? It almost seems like a disadvantage to go to the playoffs if you're not going to win the whole thing (which I'm pretty darn sure my team won't) since my understanding is that teams that are not in the playoffs don't have to pay salaries.

Both TV and Merchandise revenue continue to come in.

-------

Last regular season game falls on a Saturday.

Tuesday after is 1st round of Playoffs and 1st game of the best-of-3 Relegation Series.
Thursday is a scheduled scrimmage as usual.
Saturday is 2nd round of Playoffs and 2nd game of RS.

Tuesday after that is last game of RS (if needed) and 1st game of best-of-3 Finals.
Thurs is a scheduled scrimmage.
Sat is 2nd game of Finals.
Sun is last game of Finals (if needed).

Eliminated teams will have scrimmages automatically scheduled for them with another team in their league, with exception to Thursdays.

There'll be a more detailed pinned post of the post-season scheduling, as it gets closer.

-------

Home teams get 2/3 of the attendance revenue, away teams get 1/3, for each game. As you already alluded to, I think the only other financial windfall would essentially be getting the money that comes from promotion at the end.

Like you mentioned, other factors would be player salaries. If your team isn't playing in a competitive game for the upcoming week (league, playoffs, relegation, etc), you don't pay player salaries.

I guess there could be indirect financial benefits with fan survey, merchandise, and what not. Not entirely sure, please feel free to correct me anyone.
