Hi, I'm kinda new to BB, but i wanted to bid on a young 18 yr old point guards to train up. The first one I came across was a 6'11" point guard with perennial allstar potential and 18 yo. Are PG's ever really that tall and will he give me better or worse results as a point guard for training and playing?

It means he currently has a balance of point guard skills (passing, handling). But at that height, his guard skills will train more slowly. He's actually a great candidate for forward/center training (if he's not terrible there). At his high height, his training speed on inside skills will get a increase in speed. And already having some guard skills, he will be a more complete player.

As for playing, the height is not a factor. Only skills will effect game ratings. Height only effects training speed.

ya i decided to go with a different guy heres his skills

I want to train my pg these are his skills

Jump Shot: respectable Jump Range: mediocre
Outside Def.: respectable Handling: inept
Driving: average Passing: respectable
Inside Shot: pitiful Inside Def.: average
Rebounding: pitiful Shot Blocking: pitiful
Stamina: mediocre Free Throw: average

Experience: atrocious

He's 18 and potential of star

I know star isnt the best potential, but seeing as I just joined BB and have only played 1 game I thought I should start off small instead of wasting my money and time and screwing myself failing a training with someone who has a really good potential.
I haven't trained him yet but i want to spend the rest of the season on his OD and hopefully get a couple pops. But I'm new so I'm not really sure what the best plan i should take would be to get the most out of him.

Just a couple things to think about. Do you want a All Around PG, Inside Scoring/Outside Scoring PG, Inside Defensive/Outside Defensive PG or a Pure PG? You need to figure out what kind of offense you want to play so whichever PG you mold best fits that offense.

Also what is his height? Any taller than 6'5 is pushing it.

His Potential is just fine. If you train him till he caps then he'll be a great starter till D.III. Which by then you should be more knowledgable about the game and training.

Otherwise it looks like you found a pretty nice PG skills wise.

Buzz, do you have a level 4 trainer? If not, then you should get one (salary should be in the 10K-14K range). I agree with Texas that 6'5 is pushing it. In fact I've noticed a big difference between training 6'3 and 6'4 guys so if you're trying to create a pure point guard I'd look for someone under 6'4, perhaps even under 6'3.

I wish there were pigmen. You get a few of these pigmen walking around I'm looking a whole lot better. Then if somebody wants to fix me up at least they could say, Hey he's no pig-man!
