4 solid teams remain in the playoffs
On the Big 8 side, we have 2 teams that have made huge leaps and bounds in their first season, as Hawk7 drops in to say hi to the atlanta snipers. both teams have one player in the top 7 in all 3 major stats, and having played both teams in the regular season myself I'd say we're looking at a pretty even match, with a slight edge to the snipers. in the regular season, the two played one time, at Hawk7's arena, and hawk7 came away with a 10 point win)
In the Great 8, a pair of teams with a combined 3 losses on the season, as minnesota takes a long trip south to play the arkansas razorbacks. Arkansas is the only team of the 4 which did not blow out their first round opponent (only beating phoenix by 17) but according to national rankings they also had the toughest opponent. This will be a collision of opposing styles as minnesotagreeners has the league's top offense, scoring 113.6 ppg in the regular season, and arkansas' defense has been the toughest this season, allowing just 75.5 ppg in league play. strangely, however, the two teams seem to prefer the same tactics (a look inside offense with a 2-3 zone on D) when not playing one another.
These two played twice this season, with arkansas taking both games, but the wins were by a combined 19 points, so with the randomness of the buzzerbeater system anything could happen.
Regardless of who wins, I'd say most likely the great 8 team will be the favorite in the finals series, because the two teams on the great 8 side went 3-1 against the two teams on the big 8 side.
