I bought a player yesterday (13194877) with a DMI of 3,657,900 but today his DMI is showing as 1,042,000.

None of his skills nor his game shape have changed and he hasn't aged.

So, what else influences DMI? Something to do with the quality of league the player plays in?

I know from playing Hattrick that the equivalent there (TSI) is meaningless in itself, but losing 72% of DMI in one day is rather alarming..! :S

The DMI carried over from his last gameshape (at the end of last season). That's what all the rookies had a DMI of zero until after this update.

DMI is all very heavily dependend on gameshape. Probably he had proficient gameshape at the end of last season and now has a much lower DMI due to respectable gameshape.

I didn't realise that would affect non-youths.

Seems daft to leave the DMI unchanged from last season after the game shape update. If I see 2 players with very similar skills and the same game shape but vastly different DMI then I'm going to favour the player with more DMI.

Stuff like this should definitely be in the Manual, in the FAQ thread or at the very least in the end of season updates thread...

Is proficient the maximum game shape level?

Can a change of 9 to 7 on Game Shape really result in a loss of 72% DMI? Seems excessive.

my starting pf has dmi of 80400 and at game shape of 9 he used to have 286-282k, it slowly degrades cause of stamina loss.
seems like 71.5% drop:D

I would be careful about this, as although it is an extra piece of information which has some use, DMI is very sensitive to game shape sub levels so often times that is what will be making the difference. The only exception is if two players are at proficient game shape, which doesn't have sub levels.

Yeah, thing is I was sure game shape was identical for all players at the moment due to the end of season reset.
DMI being based on the game shape from last season is not something a new player would logically think could happen. Especially as there is no way to see what that game shape was last season.
